Additions and Remodeling
We have extensive experience in additions and remodeling of houses, be it an easy or complicated rennovation. From homes that are on small lots in a village like setting that need to be carefully restored and renovated while preserving the original architectural aesthetics, to larger homes on sprawling acreage that are more expansive in design and build we can help you to decide how to rennovate or build your home in the way that suits your situation best.
For example, in 1982-83 we built a 2000 sq. ft. addition to this house in St. Michaels, MD. The original house was built approximately in 1870. We returned in 1987 to convert one upstairs bedroom to an office. The other bedroom was completely eliminated to create a 14' ceiling in the kitchen, which was originally only 7'.
New Construction
We've built many houses throughout the years, each one individually to the specifications of the client. We can help build the dream home that will work for you, while staying within your budget.
For example, at 116 Chestnut Street in St. Michaels, MD we demolished an existing house and replaced it with this new on in 1988-89. Though a new house, we worked closely with an architect and the city of St. Michaels, MD to ensure the architectural design in keeping the spirit of the neighborhood which is in the town's Historical District.
Working with the same architect, we built this house on a wooded lot on Ferry Neck Road near Bellvue, MD in 1992.
This is our most recent construction project on Irish Creek in Royal Oak, MD. Completed in 2008, again with the aid of the architect we sought to combine the look of an older Eastern Shore house within a new construction. This house also makes use of geothermal heating and cooling technology.
